Section 3: Biography.
My name is Anna Blashchyshyna, and today I am the founder of Woodween Furniture, a full-cycle furniture company specializing in custom furniture production in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Over nine years, I have turned my love of functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces into a structured business: - assembled a team of 20 specialists; - opened a physical furniture showroom in Kyiv; - launched my own furniture manufacturing facility; - established worldwide shipping.
Today, Woodween Furniture is a Ukrainian furniture manufacturer serving private clients and interior designers, and delivering projects for residential and commercial properties.
The decision to spend all my savings and take out loans to launch my own furniture manufacturing facility became my major turning point. It was a risk, but it enabled me to build a full-fledged furniture company in Kyiv with quality control at every stage. My husband and son, psychotherapy, and challenges have shaped me—from switching to backup power after painful losses to improving quality through video reviews of complex cases in collaboration with renowned designers. My professional credo echoes Viktor Frankl: meaning is realized through action. That is why I invest without compromise in:
I earned my first money selling equipment for vending and financial services, my first substantial sums from hotel furniture projects near Kyiv, and later through scaling production and the team. Today, I am building an environment for growth without “fly-by-nights,” value the people I want to spend time with, and am moving toward sustainable scaling: more transparent processes, better projects, and flawless execution.
I have always wanted to connect my life with real estate and the creation of aesthetically pleasing, functional spaces. That is how the idea emerged to make custom furniture that does more than fill a space—it shapes the environment people live in.
The company's growth was made possible by a clear unique selling proposition, effective positioning in Kyiv’s furniture market, and testing sales channels before scaling the ones that worked.
We faced price undercutting, intense competition, and customers’ difficulty understanding the difference between “furniture makers” and a structured, full-cycle furniture company. The solution was to: - actively collaborate with interior designers; - film video reviews of complex cases; - show manufacturing processes transparently; - emphasize quality and warranties.
These decisions enabled Woodween Furniture to enter the premium custom furniture segment.
The slow switch to backup power—losing 60 000 dollars due to downtime during a peak-season month.
Selling vending equipment (self-service terminals).
Selling banknote sorting machines to currency exchange offices.
Selling furniture to a hotel near Kyiv.
Launching my own manufacturing facility.
Scaling production and the team.
