3 events that changed my life

When I was a child, I was walking down the street with my father when we stopped by an informal market. The vendors turned out to be Doctors of Science selling cigarettes one at a time. It made me think that theoretical knowledge is limiting.
The first times I skipped classes. I left the system early because I clearly realized that the real world works differently from how university lecturers tell us it does.
The birth of my son. It seems to me that having a child in your life makes you grow up very quickly.

2 people who influenced my life

My son. He teaches me something new every day.

Section 3: Biography.

A trunk packed with samples: 10 years in interior solutions

I’m Roman Bosenko, and for more than 10 years I have been leading «World of Interior Solutions» - a company that grew from one simple idea: making interiors modern and technologically advanced. From lighting and designer radiators to fireplaces and metal products, we cover the entire process, so designers, builders, and clients can choose equipment in one place, saving time that would otherwise be spent traveling to different suppliers across the city.

I used to drive around with my trunk completely packed with product samples, working without days off and driven by the ambition to make things beautiful and high-quality. Today, I see the company as a tool for creating an environment where everyone can find a solution suited to their project and budget.

My business journey began not in a nice office, but in a courtyard: I earned my first money at five, and at seven I sold toys to the child of my parents’ acquaintances and experienced the excitement of making a deal for the first time. My education didn’t provide ready-made instructions on «how to build a business», so I learned as I went: working as a courier, on construction sites, and as a sales manager. At nineteen, I bought my first car on credit and paid it off in a year. That’s when I acquired a key skill that still guides me today: taking responsibility and working toward results.

A restaurant project that exposed the chaos of outfitting interiors

How did the business idea come about?

The business idea gradually emerged from practical experience. While working in sales of designer radiators and metal products, and interacting with designers, architects, and contractors, I constantly saw chaos in interior outfitting: too many suppliers, conflicts between contractors, and no single person taking responsibility. While working on a restaurant project, I realized that a client could take care of lighting, heating, fireplaces, and design solutions as a complete package. That’s how the idea for the company «World of Interior Solutions» took shape.

The ability to launch projects without ideal conditions

What key skills helped you launch your business?

Sales skills and the ability to build a sales department from scratch - The ability to quickly understand complex technical products - Communication with designers, architects, and developers - Entrepreneurial thinking and initiative - The ability to launch projects without ideal conditions («do it now») - Intuition when working with partners and suppliers - Self-education (I created websites, presentations, and commercial proposals on my own)

300 euros on the eve of my wedding - and a business taken over by a partner

What were the 3 most difficult challenges you faced in the early years?

In the early years of my entrepreneurial journey, I faced a number of serious trials that proved decisive for my future development. The first and perhaps most painful challenge was losing my business because of a partner. Under a 50/50 partnership, my partner effectively took the warehouse, the goods, and the company, leaving me without assets or the structure I had built. It was a harsh but important lesson about trust, legal agreements, and responsibility in a business partnership. The second challenge was having no money at all. After an accident, losing the business, and just before my wedding, I had about 300 euros left. It was a period of extreme uncertainty, when I had to make decisions with limited resources, relying only on my own skills, resilience, and belief that I could rebuild. The third difficult stage was building a business without a system. For years, I worked in a «I am the business» format, without a team, a clear structure, or established processes. Realizing that I needed to move to a systematic approach was a turning point that later allowed me to scale and reach a new level. These challenges not only made me more resilient as an entrepreneur, but also gave me practical experience that I’m ready to share with others.

Instead of suing, I started over on my own

What crises has your business faced, and how did you overcome them?

- Partnership crisis: a failed partnership without a clear system of control - the decision not to sue, but to start over on my own - Supplier problems: missed deadlines, deception - switching to our own imports and working directly with China, Europe, and Ukraine - Growth constraints: the business depended on my personal presence - recognizing the need to build a system and a team

Moving from «perfect» to «done»

Which decisions proved most effective for the company’s growth?

A comprehensive approach to interior solutions - Working with designers as a key audience - Launching the business without investment and scaling gradually - Moving from «perfect» to «done» - Working with shopping centers as sources of customer traffic - Joining a business club as a catalyst for expanding my thinking and network - Beginning to build a system and structure instead of operating as a one-person craft business

50/50 without real control

Which of your mistakes do you now consider your most valuable experience?

A 50/50 partnership without real control, a clear management system, or safeguards for the business. This experience taught me responsibility, independence, and the importance of structure.

A roofing felt roof at 14 and my first trip to the sea on my own money

How did you earn your first $100?

I earned my first money at just 5 years old, helping an acquaintance carry canisters from the basement to the car. My first $100 came from working on a construction site at 14, covering the roof of a warehouse with roofing felt. It was my first substantial income, and it paid for my first trip to the sea with my own money.

How did you earn your first $1 000?

Gradually, through my first sales and odd jobs when I was young, and later by working as a sales manager and earning commissions.

From commissions to a dealer network

How did you earn your first $10 000?

Through professional work selling designer radiators and components, involvement in major projects, and building a sales department.

How did you earn your first $100 000?

By launching my own company, growing a dealer network, supplying complete interior solutions, and working on large-scale B2B projects.

18 million UAH in annual revenue from lighting and fireplaces

How did you earn your first $1 000 000?

By systematically growing the business, «World of Interior Solutions», through comprehensive sales of lighting, fireplaces, radiators, and design solutions, with annual revenue of around 18 million UAH.

Section 4: How can I be useful? Experience I can share.

Lessons from mistakes and losses—without sugarcoating, but with takeaways

I can be most helpful through my hands-on experience gained in real business conditions. Over the years, I have built a business from scratch without start-up capital—from the first steps and decisions to creating a stable, viable model.

I have a deep understanding of the sales processes for complex technical and design products, as well as experience working effectively with designers, architects, and developers. I am well-versed in selecting suppliers and building partnerships, particularly when working with markets in China and Europe.
Another valuable area is my experience with crisis management in business: the ability to act amid uncertainty, find a way out of difficult situations, and restructure processes. I have made the transition from a craft-based operation to a systematic business and understand the challenges entrepreneurs face at this stage.
I am also ready to share real-life experience with mistakes, losses, and recovery—without sugarcoating, but with clear takeaways that may be useful to others.

I am currently in the process of systematizing my business

Your experience: how do you systematize a business?

I am currently in the process of systematizing my own business. I am now learning about AI and financial accounting systems, documenting business processes and job descriptions, and creating a knowledge base to train employees.

Find growth opportunities—and focus all your efforts on them

Your experience: how do you grow x2 in a year?

Analyze what you do best, find growth opportunities, and focus all your efforts on them. Or turn to mentors—they can offer guidance.

Section 5: Club value

What am I looking for in the club?

I am looking for a space to exchange practical experience and proven tools that are already delivering results, as well as an opportunity to accelerate the growth of my business and my thinking more broadly. Access to international connections and new horizons that open the way to scaling up and a global perspective is equally important. I also value an inspiring, energetic atmosphere that encourages personal growth, along with a genuine sense of community—a place that, over time, becomes a “second family,” where people support and motivate one another and share common values.

What have I received from the club?

For me, the club is first and foremost a community of strong, thoughtful, truly ambitious people who are not afraid to set high goals and take responsibility. Connecting with people who make decisions, create and grow businesses, shape markets, and set the direction is also a great value.
